Expectations:
-Welcome to Jazz Ensemble. This is an advanced ensemble and will be treated as a professional quality group. Literature, preparation, and performance quality will be at the highest standard; pushing the boundaries for High School Jazz Ensembles world-wide.

Grading:
-Performance Attendance: 50%
-Playing Tests/Written Assignment: 25%
-Classroom Participation: 25%
Syllabus:
Weeks 1-9: Preparation of music for performance at Fall Jazz Concert. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 10-18: Preparation of music for performance at Winter Jazz Concert and Northshore Jazz Festival. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 19-27: Preparation of music for performance at Warren Jazz Festival and the Rolling Meadows Jazz Festival. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 28-36: Preparation of music for performance at Jazz Awards Concert.
