Expectations:
-Welcome to Jazz Lab II. This is an intermediate level jazz band. This group is designed to push the boundaries of its member’s creative and technical capacity.
Procedures: Classroom procedures are outlined in the Band Handbook which is available at wthsbands.org
Grading:
-Performance Attendance: 50%
-Playing Tests/Written Assignment: 25%
-Classroom Participation: 25%
Syllabus:
Weeks 1-9: Preparation of music for performance at Fall Jazz Concert. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 10-18: Preparation of music for performance at Winter Jazz Concert and Northshore Jazz Festival. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 19-27: Preparation of music for performance at Warren Jazz Festival and the Rolling Meadows Jazz Festival. Performance assessments will take place on assigned music.
Weeks 28-36: Preparation of music for performance at Jazz Awards Concert.
