2010 Warren Township High School Jazz Ensemble Audition Information
Jazz Ensemble Auditions are open to students in any grade, and will take place in mid to late April (date TBA). Auditions are open to students at any grade level, and will consist of the following:
1.) Selected measures from the Prepared Piece "Got Rhythm"
2.) A short sight reading example
3.) OPTIONAL: Solo over F-Blues and/or Bb Rhythm Changes.

Set B
Set B auditions are for students who will be included in the Concert Bands at Warren Township High School. These bands include the O’Plaine Concert Bands: Concert Band I, II, and III, and the Almond Concert Bands: Concert Band I and II. Underclassmen students will be placed in the O’Plaine Concert Bands. Upperclassmen students will be placed in the Almond Concert Bands. O’Plaine and Almond Concert Band Members make up the Blue Devils Show Band, which performs at all home football games.
1. Prepared Sheet:
Winds: Students only need to download one sheet for Set B. This sheet will include scales, an etude, and rhythmic patterns. The student should prepare the entire sheet. Students will be asked to play the entire sheet for their audition.
Percussion: There are two pages of percussion excerpts. Students will play two snare etudes, one timpani etude, and two mallet etudes (Marimba - if no marimba is available use xylophone).
2. Sightreading: Students will be asked to sight-read an excerpt. They will have thirty seconds to look over the excerpt before playing.
