Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,
Here are some updates and reminders for the week of March 7, 2016 (Please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Winter Guard Competition (Announcement) Date: This Sunday (Mar 13) Times: These will be posted on the Guard Facebook pages (See Mr. Jenkins, or a guard member, if you have any questions) Location: Batavia High School (Batavia, IL) Spectator Admission Cost: $8 per adult, $6 per kids (10 and under), Free (kids under 5) Good Luck! - Please attend to support our Winter Guard Teams! 2) Mundelein Jazz Fest Competition (Announcement – Jazz Ensemble Only) Date: This Saturday (Mar 12) Location: Mundelein High School (Mundelein, IL) Specific Times: Contact your directors Good Luck! - Please support our wonderful Jazz Bands by attending to cheer them on and hear some wonderful jazz music. 3) Winter Guard Competition (Completed) Last Saturday (Mar 5), all our Winter Guard teams competed at Lake Park High School (Roselle, IL) The Varsity placed 1st out of 10 in their class. The JV placed 10th out of 10 in their tough class with only a few points separating all the teams. Congratulations to all our Winter Guard students on a job well done! 4) Senior Flowers (Reminder) Some parents contacted me, but we could still use a couple more parent volunteers to help distribute and attach the flowers to all the Senior students, as needed, at the May band concerts. If you are interested, please contact Mark Haynes thru this band booster e-mail address. 5) Senior Day (Reminder) Some parents contacted me, but we could still use a couple more parent volunteers to help purchase items ahead of time and distribute them to the Senior students on this day (exact date still to be determined).If you are interested, please contact Mark Haynes thru this band booster e-mail address. 6) Next Marching Band Camp Dates (Reminder) Dates: August 1 - 5, 2016 Times: 9 A - 5 P Location: O'Plaine campus. Registration is now open and we need as many students as possible in attendance! Sign up ASAP at https://d121.cr3.rschooltoday.com/public/home! Please note that this is also the same week as registration, but students will be allowed to come and go as needed for registration. Review this band camp packet for more information. 7) Cheesecake Sale (Reminder) Delivery will be on Mar 17 (Thursday) at Almond (3 - 6 P). 8) Miscellaneous Reminders - Leftover marching band show T-Shirts (Arachnophobia) - Marching band DVD's If you are interested in purchasing any of the above, please contact the directors or the booster board members.
