2010 Summer Band Camp

Warren Township

MARCHING BLUE DEVILS

“New Blue Tradition”

This summer, we will embark on a new phase of the Warren Township marching band program.

This ‘New Blue Tradition’ is an all-encompassing marching band bringing together all members of the Warren band program.  The Marching Blue Devils will perform pre-game ceremonies, a competitive-style half-time production, and play in the stands at all home varsity football games.

The band will also compete at 2-3 contests in the fall.

The Marching Blue Devils will be, by far, the largest marching band in Illinois and will impress the audiences with the colossal size and sound, fielding 300+ members!

The 2010 Marching Blue Devils season will begin with a partial week of camp beginning

Wed. July 28 to Friday, July 30, and then continuing with a full week of band camp week  Aug. 2 – Aug. 6.

Camp each day will run from 9 am to 5 pm. at the Almond Road campus.

To make your Marching Blue Devils a success, we expect you to attend all the days of camp.

We ask that you clear your calendar for these critical 8 days.

***We will begin assigning Drill spots on Thursday of the first week.

We will be learning our 2010 pre-game and competitive marching band program for the season. You will be placed in your drill spot and receive high quality instruction by experienced staff. We are very excited about this competitive program.

Congratulations are due to the Warren Jazz Ensemble!

The Jazz Ensemble was named GRAND CHAMPIONS at the 2010 Northshore Jazz Festival, and most recently the 2010 Rolling Meadows Jazz Festival.

Here is a quote from a judges sheet at Jazz in the Meadows:

"Wow! Great Band.  You are all to be commended.  You are playing well beyond your years.  There were some minor things here or there, but this is probably the best High School Jazz Band I have ever heard.  Congrats!" -Mo Trout, Director of Jazz at Purdue University

Warren Band Booster Membership

Why Become a Band Booster?

Band Boosters organize fundraisers to benefit the band program.  In the past we have been able to help with purchasing instruments, accessories, uniforms and props for all bands during the marching and concert seasons.  With the increasing budget cuts our monetary input is greatly needed and appreciated by the band directors.

Band Boosters also donate their time to help with different activities for example:  parade walkers, field crew for both marching bands, chaperone trips, and different stations at the craft fair to name a few.  Attending the bimonthly meetings during the school year is the best way to stay in touch with what goes on.  The Website is also of great help in staying informed if you cannot attend meetings.

Band Boosters have members-only access to this web site that include membership directory, extended photo library, downloads, and forums.

The $5 family membership fee goes directly to the program.
