Fall 2009 Marching Band Camp Dates


Warren Marching Blue Devils

Marching Blue Devils is made up of members of the Symphonic Bands and auditioned upperclassmen. There will be two full ensemble music rehearsals on Wed July 15 and July 22, from 6pm - 9pm at O'Plaine!

 

The 2009 Marching Blue Devils will hold their annual band camp beginning on Monday July 27 to Friday, July 31st, from 9 am to 5 pm. at the O’Plaine Road campus.

 

Warren Show Band

Show Band is made up of members of Concert Bands I, II, and III.

 

Show Band will hold their annual band camp beginning on Monday August 3rd to Friday, August 7th, from 9 am to 5 pm. at the O’Plaine Road campus. The color guard and drumline will have additional few summer rehearsals.

 

Both bands will march in the Gurnee Days Parade this August.

Marching Blue Devils Reach State Finals

The Marching Blue Devils took the field with an inspired show last saturday at the State of Illinois Marching Band Championships at Normal. They were rewarded with a coveted finalist spot the 11th time in 15 years.
Their "Visions of Egypt" show was a big hit with the judges and fans alike. This was a fantastic close to a very competitive season. Congratulations to the students and directors! Click here for score information.

Video Recording Help Needed

We are looking someone to volunteer to compile the videos taken by parents during marching season starting next year. Gregg Jorgensen, who has been doing it for the several years, will be leaving since his son graduates this year. If we don't have anyone step up, this year will be the last year we have a marching video.

Here are a few notes on what's new:


Look under the Band Info section of the menu on the left for the latest information from your band director on the band classes you are in. It will be updated often by the band directors themselves.

 

The IMEA Audition Etudes have been revised and available on the web site.  Look for the heading "Concert Audition Music - Set 'A'  (Revised 08/25/2008)" under Audition Materials.  

 

The revised 2008-2009 band handbook is now available here  for download.

 

The online calendar has been updated with all major events and rehearsals for the 2008-2009 school year. Additional information on fundraisers will be added shortly. (Did you know you can print a nicely formatted version of the calendar with all events for the month by clicking on the Print Calendar link in the lower right corner of the calendar?)

Warren Band Booster Membership

Why Become a Band Booster?  

 

Band Boosters organize fundraisers to benefit the band program.  In the past we have been able to help with purchasing instruments, accessories, uniforms and props for all bands during the marching and concert seasons.  With the increasing budget cuts our monetary input is greatly needed and appreciated by the band directors.  

 

Band Boosters also donate their time to help with different activities for example:  parade walkers, field crew for both marching bands, chaperone trips, and different stations at the craft fair to name a few.  Attending the bimonthly meetings during the school year is the best way to stay in touch with what goes on.  The Website is also of great help in staying informed if you cannot attend meetings.    

 

Band Boosters have members-only access to this web site that include membership directory, extended photo library, downloads, and forums.  

 

The $5 family membership fee goes directly to the program.
