2019-2020 Warren Township High School Bands Audition materials

Set A Auditions for 2019-2020 Warren Township High School Bands
Set A auditions are for placement in Symphonic Band I and Symphonic Band II, the most advanced bands at Warren Township High School.
If a student is placed in Symphonic Band I, Monday night rehearsals are a requirement for participation after marching band season. Symphonic Band II does not have Wednesday night rehearsals after marching season concludes. Auditioning on Set A does not guarantee a position in the Symphonic Bands. A strong Set B audition is better than a weak Set A audition.
Requirement for a Set A Audition
1. First 6 lines of the ILMEA Scale Sheet (Percussion are exempt from this portion)

2. Two etudes from the ILMEA Materials for 2019-2020 have been selected. An excerpt from each etude has been selected, which have been indicated by starting and ending brackets. Percussionists should learn excerpts from the Keyboard, Timpani, and Snare Drum etudes, which have also been indicated by starting and ending brackets.

Set B Auditions for 2019-2020 Warren Township High School Bands
To audition for placement in all Concert Bands at the O’Plaine and Almond Campus.
Requirements for a Set B Audition
1. Entire Set B Sheet. Percussion must audition on Keyboard, Timpani, and Snare Drum.

Jazz Auditions for 2019-2020
To audition for placement in the jazz program. Jazz Ensemble is only being offered for auditioned juniors and seniors and Jazz Lab Band (or Bands) will be offered for freshmen-seniors. All students will have a spot in a Jazz Lab band but the audition is to better inform decisions regarding multiple jazz lab bands going forward. We understand that scheduling is difficult so please contact us if you have any questions!
Requirements:
1. Perform 3 jazz etudes (swing, ballad, and Latin) found at the following link:

*Percussionists interested in jazz can audition on EITHER vibes or drum set or both.
