Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,
This is the last weekly e-mail for the 2016 – 2017 school year.
Additional e-mails will be sent out this "summer", as needed.
Here are some updates and reminders for the week of May 22, 2017 (Please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed):
1) 2017 Summer Band Camp (Reminder – Senior families can ignore)
Dates: July 31 until August 4, 2017
Times: 9 A - 5 P
Location: O'Plaine campus.
Registration is still open and we need as many students as possible in attendance!
Please sign up ASAP!
See the band camp packet (sent out previously) for more information.
2) 2017 Craft Fair (Reminder – Senior families can ignore)
This is our biggest fundraiser of each year and brings in thousands of dollars for our program!
We still have many volunteer opportunities to help with the event, including coordinator(s).The more people that come forward, the less work there will be to do for each person and job.
Please send an e-mail to the band booster website ASAP if you can help so we can continue to have this event and fully support the Warren Band Program.
3) Final Band Concerts/Awards (Completed)
Last Tuesday (May 16, 2017), all 5 of our concert bands performed their last concert of the school year.
Every band sounded wonderful and showed significant improvement from the start of the concert season!
Senior awards were also given out to those selected to receive them.
Congratulations to all the award recipients!
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the return of the concert wear and the Senior flowers!
4) Music in the Parks Band Fundraiser 2017 (Completed)
Last Saturday (May 20, 2017), we hosted many school musical groups (bands, orchestras and choirs from many different places) who performed for judging prior to going to Great America.
Thank you to all the students and parents who volunteered their time to make this another successful fundraising event!
5) General Volunteer Thank You!
Thanks so much to all the parent booster volunteers who helped with anything throughout this, and prior, school years!
You are vital to the success of our program and we could not have done it without you!
6) Departing Senior Parent/Student Thank You!
A special shout-out to those departing Senior Parents and Students!
We enjoyed getting to know you and will miss working with you.
We wish you and your family the best for the future!
You will always be part of the Warren band family.
We hope to see you again in the future!
7) Final Comments From The President
As many of you know, my youngest just graduated from Warren and my time as Booster President (and just being a band booster) will end in late June 2017.
I have really enjoyed getting to know hundred's of band students and their parents over the last 7 years (last 4 as Booster President).
This time has been one of the most rewarding and incredible experiences of my life, which I will always remember and cherish!
A special thanks to all the volunteers and board members I have worked with over the years, especially the current board.
I/We could not have done it without you!
Though my kids have graduated, I am also a Warren band alumni and you will likely still see me around Warren at various functions (and helping, if needed).
I hope to see many familiar faces in the future and look forward to hearing about your new life experiences!
If you see me, please stop me to say Hi!

WTHS Band Boosters
Welcome 2017-2018 Marching Band parents,
It is time to register your Warren student for the 2017 Marching Blue Devil band camp! This year's dates are July 31-August 4. Please read the attached letter completely. There are two marching bands this season. The directors have talked to current band students about this change. If you have any questions, please send an email to Mr. Jenkins (firstname.lastname@example.org).
This year's band registration packet is HERE. Please note band camp registration is through the WTHS Camp Registration site.
If you're not out of town that week we need the students at camp. It's the single best time when the students can receive focused instruction from a professional staff for more than the few hours each week. And it's important that all registrations are in by May 31st so that music can be assigned and drills (marching instructions and diagrams) can be created to include everybody. If for any reason you cannot be at band camp or cannot register by the deadline please send a note to Mr. Jenkins (email@example.com) and let him know what is going on.
