Greetings Warren Competition Band Families! Announcements/Reminders Week of September 10 1. Band Booster Meeting – Thursday, September 6 – COMPLETE Thank you for attending the meeting! 2. Jimano’s Restaurant Fundraiser – Thursday, September 13 Date: September 13 Times: 4pm-8pm Location: Gurnee and Waukegan No need to make Dinner!! Pick Up Dinner and Support the Band! See FLYER 3. SECOND Warren Band Spirit Sale – PICK UP Pick-Up Times/Dates: Wednesday, September 12 – 5:30-6:30pm – O’Plaine campus Room 107 Friday, September 14 – 5:15-6:00pm- O’Plaine Campus Cafeteria (when students arrive for Football game) 4. Football Game Performance – Friday, September 14 5:15-5:30pm Call time for all members in cafeteria – Must wear white band t-shirt, blue mesh shorts, and mid-calf, black socks Change in cafeteria – leave personal items there (parents will keep secure during game) 6:00pm Move to practice field behind stadium 6:15pm Field rehearsal 7:15pm Move to stadium - Sit in band stands 7:25pm National Anthem singers, then band plays school fight song NOTE: All Band Students (except Color Guard): Must be wearing their FULL Marching Band UNIFORM. This includes Marching Jacket, Marching Pants (bibs), Black mid-calf Socks, Marching Shoes, and Hats/Gloves (as required per instrument) First half Play in the stands during time outs Play at end of first quarter Fight Song after every Warren score 5min mark Band preps for show SHOW March on field Play and march drill March off field Second half ALL STUDENTS RETURN UNIFORMS TO CAFETERIA Competition band members (except drumline) Dismissed Non-competition band members During 3rd Quarter: Students may relax, eat snacks/dinner, or even do homework. Students may NOT go up into the Home OR Visiting stands! BEFORE 4th quarter begins: Return to band stands (with instruments) Fight song after every Warren score Fight song at the end of the game End of game Non-competition members dismissed: APPROX 9:30-10pm. We stay until the end of the game and have no control over how long a football game lasts. Reminders:

Please contact Mr. Jenkins you have any other questions. 6. 51st Annual Chicagoland Marching Band Festival Wheeling High School Saturday, September 15, 2018 Here is the information for the competition: Warren Band's Schedule (also attached to this email) Please arrive at the O'Plaine Campus at 1:00pm for rehearsal which begins promptly at 1:30pm. Following rehearsal, load the trucks around 3:30pm. Please bring food or quickly get food. Don't forget your instrument essentials (mouthpiece, extra reeds, sticks/mallets, flags/rifles). Bus chaperones should arrive by 4:30pm if you are not assisting with loading the trucks. Load buses at 5:00pm. All buses will leave O'Plaine promptly at 5:15pm. Our performance time is 9:00pm. Awards will begin at 9:45pm. Students will be returning to O'Plaine around 11:00pm. Under uniform: WHITE band shirt, Blue band shorts, MID-CALF BLACK socks, Black marching shoes [Note: color guard may have different requirements, please check with your coach.] Hair: If your student has long hair, please remember to bring accessories to pull hair up into the helmet. Located on the corner of Route 83 (Elmhurst Road) and Hintz Road in Wheeling, one mile south of Route 68 (Dundee Road) and one mile north of Palatine/Willow Road. TICKETS: General admission prices: $12.00 Adults/$8.00 Students & Senior Citizens. The family plan is 2 adults/4 children for $30.00. Competing band members must have their hand stamped upon arrival at the festival for admission to the stadium. CONCESSIONS: A wide variety of delicious food and drinks will be available throughout the evening. Please support the festival by using Wheeling’s concessions. AWARDS:
