Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,
Here are some announcements and reminders for Early August 2016:
1) Last 2016 Color Guard Car Wash Fundraiser – (Announcement!)
Date: This Saturday August 13, 2016
Time: 9 AM to 3 PM
Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill
6593 Grand Avenue
(Uno’s parking lot near the SW corner of Grand Avenue and Hunt Club Road)
Cost: A monetary donation
Purpose: The money raised will help offset the cost of their marching costumes, which each guard member has to purchase themselves

Please come out to help support this integral part of the marching band and get your cars washed at the same time!
2) Band Camp Week – Completed
The annual Warren band camp week was completed last Friday (August 5).
The directors indicated that this was another successful and productive band camp.
3) Last Band Booster Meeting – Completed
The last band booster meeting was held on August 4 (Thursday) at the WTHS O’Plaine campus auditorium.
Thanks to the large group who attended.

Please note that there will be some “minor” changes to the calendar as we move into the school year and we will provide these updates when they become available.
We also recommend that you put all the current dates on your family calendars.
4) Gurnee Days Parade – Sun. Aug. 14
Time: 10 A to 1 P (10 AM is student call time)
Meeting Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus
At the appropriate time, we will take school buses from the OP campus to our parade line up area (Spot #6).
Since the parade ends near Dairy Queen, we will walk back to the school (OP campus) after it is over.
Student Attire Requirements - All students are required to wear their white marching band shirt (not Pearl Harbor show shirt), blue marching band shorts, white socks, and white or light sneakers (No black socks!)
Students - If you need to purchase band shorts and/or shirts, please bring $10 cash or check for each ($20 total if you need both).
Parents - In order to support this activity, we need a few parent volunteers to walk with the band in the parade and deliver water, as needed. If you can help with this, please contact Mark Haynes ASAP at email@example.com.
We could also use a few to help with the distribution of band shorts and shirts beforehand. If you can help with this, please contact Valerie Tamburrino ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The parent volunteer call time is 9:30 AM this Sunday at the OP campus!
5) Regular Wed. Night Band Practices – Start Aug. 17
Time: 6 to 9 P
Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus
6) Make-Up Uniform Fittings Night – Wed. Aug. 17
Who: Those who could not attend band camp or the 2 band camp fittings nights this year
What: Make-Up marching band uniform fitting
Date: Wednesday August 17
Time: 5 to 6 P
Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus
At least 10 parent volunteers are needed this night, from 5 to 7 P, to assist with this uniform effort and help organize them after the fittings.

7) Warren Band Spirit Wear Sale (Open Now & Ends This Sunday Aug 14!)
What: New WTHS Band Spirit Wear for students and parents is still available thru the American Outfitters webstore at the link below. Here is the flyer showing all items.
Dates: Now thru this Sunday August 14.
