Greetings Warren Band Parents and Students,
Here are a few additional late July announcements/reminders for upcoming band events. 1) Warren Band Spirit Wear - Items recently ordered will be delivered during band camp. 2) Color Guard Car Wash Fundraiser – (Late Next Week!) Date: Saturday August 1 Time: 10 AM to 3 PM Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill 6593 Grand Avenue Gurnee, IL (Uno’s parking lot near the SW corner of Grand Avenue and Hunt Club Road) Cost: A monetary donation Purpose: The money raised will help offset the cost of their marching costumes, which each guard member has to purchase themselves See flyer for details. Please come out to support this integral part of the band and get your cars washed at the same time! 3) Color Guard Food Fundraiser – (Starts Late Next Week!) Date: Saturday August 1 thru Sunday August 30 Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill 6593 Grand Avenue Gurnee, IL Details: Visit Uno and they will donate up to 20 % of your check to the WTHS Color Guard (Dine-In or Takeout) Purpose: The money raised will also help offset the cost of their marching costumes. You must bring the attached certificate (coupon) and present it to your server. Please come out for some food/drink and support these band students at the same time! 4) Band Camp – Week of July 27th (Next Week!) Dates: Monday thru Friday (July 27 - 31) Time: 9 AM to 5 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus Note: If you have not yet signed up for band camp. please do so ASAP! 5) Uniform Fitting Nights - July 28-29 (Next Week!) What: Marching band uniform fittings (2 nights during band camp) Date #1: Tuesday July 28 (Juniors and Seniors) Date #2 : Wednesday July 29 (Incoming Freshmen and Sophomores) If you cannot absolutely attend your night, please come the other evening. Time: 5 to 7:30 PM (right after band camp day ends) Students/parents should bring their smart phones to enter information into an online form. If you do not have a smart phone or forget yours, some electronic devices will be available to access the online form. Payment is by cash or check only. Please note the above reminders/changes identified in bold text. Location: WTHS O’Plaine cafeteria Items available: band shirt, band shorts, marching shoes, white gloves, booster membership 5A) Uniform Fitting Volunteers Still Desperately Needed! We still need volunteers (ideally 15 more each night - July 28 & 29). This would only require a couple of hours of your time per night. Both parents and returning students are encouraged to assist. Please note that more volunteers means less work for all. Teresa Oberlander will coordinate the marching band uniform volunteers again this year. If you are able to volunteer, please email Teresa ASAP at [email protected]. 6) WTHS Band Booster Meeting – July 30 Date: Thursday July 30 (first one of 2015-16 school year) Times: 6:30 to 7 PM (parents new to the band program) 7 to approximately 8:30 PM (all booster members) Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus auditorium All band parents should try to attend!
