Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Aug. 31, 2015: 1) Color Guard UNO Food Fundraiser (Completed) Last month (Aug), if you visited Uno with the special certificate/coupon, they donated up to 20 % of your check to the WTHS Color Guard (Dine-In or Takeout) Thanks to all those who participated in this fundraiser for the color guard! 2) Color Guard Car Wash Fundraiser #2 (Completed) Thanks to all who came out to support the color guard car wash last Sunday (August 30)! Despite the weather, the guard participants were able to earn additional money (almost $500) towards their marching costumes. 3) Fall Warren Band Student Fundraiser (Mr. Z's/Chip Shoppe) - (Completed) This sale was completed early this week. Product will be delivered during the latter part of the Sept 21 week for pick up at the Almond band room. 4) Regular Wed. Night Band Practice (Sept 2 - Tomorrow) Time: 6 to 9 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus 5) Short Field Crew Meeting (Wed Sept 2 - Tomorrow) Time: 6:30 to 7 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine band room Purpose: Briefly discuss assignments/schedule and answer questions For all parents interested in participating in this activity this year, whether you signed up already or not 6) Band Booster Meeting (Sept 3 - This Thursday) Date: This Thursday (Sept 3) Time: 7 to 8:30 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine band room 7) First Home Football Game - Halftime Band Performance (Sept 4 - This Friday) Date: This Friday September 4 Times: 5:30 to 10 PM (5:30 PM student call time, 5 PM parent volunteer call time) Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus (check in at the cafeteria) More information will be sent out later this week. 8) Warren Band Spiritwear For Sale (On-Going) What: WTHS Band Spiritwear for students and parents Order online at www.AmericanOutfittersLTD.com Direct Order Address: http://americanoutfittersltd.com/Warren-Band-Boosters-ORDER-BY-9-7-15_c147.htm (copy and paste into a web browser) Dates: now thru Monday Sept 7 (no orders will be accepted after this date so we can get everything before the first competition) Items available: polo shirts, baseball cap, 2 different t-shirts, fleece jacket and several other heavier weight jackets All items are scheduled to be delivered before the Wheeling competition on Sept. 19. Purchase some reasonably priced quality clothing items to help stay warm while outdoors during the colder weather at our marching band performances and show your support for the band students at the same time! These items would also make great Christmas presents and can help you get your present shopping done early. Only 1 weekend left to participate in this event. Please note that this will be your last time to obtain any Warren Band spiritwear items this year! 9) Volunteers Needed Who: Parent Volunteers What: Pass out Craft Fair flyers at all the home football games, Fill The Drum and Homecoming Parade this year Dates/Times: Football Games = 5 Fridays (Sept 4, Sept 18, Sept 25, Oct 2 and Oct 16) 4:30 to 5:15 PM and 6:15 to 7:45 PM Fill The Drum = Sept 16 (Wed) / Approximately 5 to 7 PM Homecoming Parade = Oct 3 (Sat) / Approximately 9 to 10:30 AM All interested volunteers should e-mail Virginia McCullough ASAP, our Craft Fair coordinator, at [email protected] Go Blue Devils!
