Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of April 27, 2015 (please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Website Update The Warren Band Program Boosters website has been updated. The web address is still the same: www.wthsbands.org. Check out our new site, and send us your feedback. 2) 2015 Summer Band Camp Update (Reminder/Announcement, seniors can ignore) Dates: July 27 thru 31, 2015 (Monday thru Friday) Location: WTHS – O’Plaine Campus Registration for the next summer band camp is open. Please note that registration is now being handled thru the WTHS Web Store: https://wths.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=RW_SummerAthlet Please register before the end of May! 3) Booster Board Election Results (Announcement)
- Elections for booster officers for next year took place at the last booster meeting in the O'Plaine band room last Tuesday (April 21) - Here are the results: President – Mark Haynes Vice President – Greg Johnson Treasurer – Beth Grau Secretary – Tracy Young Thank you to the 2015 Booster Election nomination committee (Lucy Carpentier, Jean Middleton and Virginia McCullough) and all who attended! 4) Marching Blue Devils Color Guard Tryouts (Reminder, seniors can ignore) Tryouts: Thursday, May 7, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Almond Gym Wear comfortable clothes and gym or dance type shoes. 5) Marching Blue Devils Drum Line Tryouts (Reminder, seniors can ignore) Tryouts: Thursday, May 7, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Almond Gym See your director ASAP for three audition exercises. 6) Music in the Parks - Volunteers needed!! (Reminder for ALL) Teresa Oberlander and Beth Grau are co-chairs for this three day event (May 8-9 & 16). Our O'Plaine campus will host around 40 school bands and/or choirs who perform prior to going to Great America. Music in the Parks is one of our largest fundraiser each year. Unlike most fundraisers, we only need a few hours of your time. Volunteers can sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4baeab2aa0fb6-music. Any questions, please contact Teresa or Beth ([email protected]). 7) Next Jazz Band Concert (All Jazz Bands) (Reminder) Date: April 30, 2015 (This Thursday), starting at 7 PM Location: WTHS – Almond Campus (Black Box Theatre) Jazz students should remember to bring any items requested by their director (such as drinks, salty snacks or sweet snacks). Parent Volunteers - Please contact Amy Blumberg ([email protected]) or Lynn Grennie ([email protected]) ASAP if you can assist at the Jazz concert (especially for setup and cleanup). 8) Jazz Auditions (Reminder) Auditions for next year's jazz lab and ensemble will begin around the end of this week (early May). As a result, many volunteers are needed to help collect them and get them cleaned. Please contact Maureen Huss ([email protected]) ASAP if you can assist at the band concerts.
