Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of May 4, 2015 (please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) 2015 Summer Band Camp (Reminder – Seniors can ignore) Dates: July 27 thru 31, 2015 (Monday thru Friday) Location: WTHS – O’Plaine Campus Registration for the next summer band camp is open. Please note that registration is being handled thru the WTHS Web Store: https://wths.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=RW_SummerAthlet Please register before the end of May! 2) Marching Blue Devils Color Guard Tryouts (Reminder – Seniors can ignore)
Tryouts: Thursday, May 7, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Almond Gym Wear comfortable clothes and gym or dance type shoes. 3) Marching Blue Devils Drum Line Tryouts (Reminder – Seniors can ignore) Tryouts: Thursday, May 7, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Almond Gym If you have not done so already, see your director ASAP for three audition exercises. 4) Music in the Parks - Volunteers needed!! (Reminder for ALL) Teresa Oberlander and Beth Grau are co-chairs for this three day event (May 8-9 & 16). Our O'Plaine campus will host around 40 school bands and/or choirs who perform prior to going to Great America. Music in the Parks is one of our largest fundraiser each year. Unlike most fundraisers, we only need a few hours of your time. Volunteers - We need your help! Please sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4baeab2aa0fb6-music. If you cannot sign up ahead of time for any reason, please show up when you can and we will help locate areas that need your help. Any questions, please contact Teresa or Beth ([email protected]). 5) Jazz Auditions (Reminder – Seniors can ignore) Auditions for next year's jazz lab and ensemble will begin this week (early May). Materials are at: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cnulr124jtwcdcb/AAD8IsRSoCEaKx3msWDamcC2a?dl=0 Please contact Mr. Tribley if you have any questions. 6) Final Band Concerts/Awards (Reminder – All Bands) Date: May 6 (Wednesday – Tomorrow!), starting at 6:30 PM (all bands perform on one night) Location: WTHS – O’Plaine Auditorium Parent Volunteers – All band students will be turning in their concert wear on this concert night. As a result, many volunteers are needed to help collect them and get them cleaned. Please contact Maureen Huss ([email protected]) ASAP if you can assist at the band concerts. We really need your help for this task! 7) Band Staff (Directors) Update For The Next School Year (Announcement) Per recent discussions between the Band Booster Board and the school administration, there will be no changes to the band staff (directors) for the 2015 – 2016 school year.
