Here are some updates and reminders for the week of April 25, 2016 (Please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Symphonic I Band Performance At Northwestern (Announcement/Reminder)Date: This Tuesday (Tomorrow - April 26) Location: Pick-Staiger Concert Hall at Northwestern University (50 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston, IL 60208) Performance Time: 8:30 P (house opens at 7:30 P) Mutual performance with Evanston Township High School (who performs at 8 P) Admission is free! Please consider attending to hear some incredible music and to support our wonderful Symphonic I band! 2) Disney 2017 Trip - "Tentative" Dates (Announcement) At the last booster meeting, the following "tentative" dates were announced for the 2017 Disney trip:March 2 - 6, 2017 These are the most likely dates for this trip and this should help everyone plan their schedules. However, they are technically still considered "tentative" because they have not yet been formally approved. Once the dates are approved, we will send out another update. 3 Color Guard Tryouts For 2016 - 2017 School Year (Reminder) Dates/Times: This Week Wednesday (April 27), 6 - 8:30 P, at Almond Campus Gym For more information, see attached flyer. No experience necessary! Good luck to all! 4) Drumline Tryouts For 2016 - 2017 School Year (Reminder) Dates/Times: This Week Wednesday (April 27), 6 - 9 P, at Almond Campus Band Room If interested, get materials from your band director and sign up for a time with Jon Locke (the coach) or in the high school band room Jon Locke’s email address is [email protected] Good luck to all! 5) Music in the Parks 2016 - Volunteers needed!! (Reminder for ALL) Dates: May 7 and 14, 2016 (both Saturdays - Only 2 days this year) Times: 8 A - 3 P Location: O'Plaine campus We are aware that Prom is also on May 7, but there are still plenty of opportunities for all to help earlier in the day! We will host many school musical groups who perform prior to going to Great America. Music in the Parks is one of the largest fundraiser each year for our band program. Unlike most fundraisers, there is nothing to buy or sell, and we only need a few hours of your time. Choose one or more shifts and enjoy working with great people. along with meeting bands, orchestras and choirs from many different states. We really need your help! 6) Next Marching Band Camp Dates (Reminder) Dates: August 1 - 5, 2016 Times: 9 A - 5 P Location: O'Plaine campus. Registration is still open and we need as many students as possible in attendance! Please sign up ASAP at https://d121.cr3.rschooltoday.com/public/home before May 31! Please note that this is also the same week as registration, but students will be allowed to come and go as needed for registration.
