Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,
Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Aug 22, 2016 (first full week of 2016-2017):

1) Bears event (completed)
Thank you to students and parents for their flexibility yesterday. We received positive feedback from several individuals about our band.

2) First Trip, Student Fundraiser (Aug. 22-Sep. 6)
Name: Cherrydale Farms (formerly The Chip Shoppe)
Start Date: Monday, Aug. 22. Students will receive brochure and order form beginning in band tomorrow.
Forms and check(s) due to directors: Tuesday, Sept. 6.
**checks payable to Warren High School (not Band or Boosters!!!)**
Delivery/Pick up: Wed. Sept. 28 at Almond, 3pm – 6pm

3) Band Conflict Policy
Now that school is starting its first full week, we would like to remind parents and students to review the Marching Blue Devils Band Conflict Policy. Beginning with this Wednesday rehearsal, students should adhere to this policy if they are unable to attend future Wednesday rehearsals, home football halftime performances, and band competitions. Please contact your director ASAP if you are participating in a fall sport or activity that would result in you being late or missing several band events.

4) Wed. Night Band Practice – Aug. 24 (this Wednesday)
Time: 6 to 9 PM
Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus

5) Last Make-Up Uniform Fitting – This Wed. Aug. 24
Who: Those who did not attend the previous uniform fittings this year
What: Make-Up marching band uniform fitting
Date: Wednesday August 24
Time: 5:30 to 6 PM
Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus
At least 5 parent volunteers are needed this night, from 5:30 to 7 PM, to assist with this uniform effort and help organize them after the fittings.

6) First Halftime Performance at WTHS Home Football Game – This Fri. Aug. 26
The 2016 Marching Blue Devils will make their debut Friday evening at halftime of the varsity football game. Come see what your students have been practicing over the past month.
- Please have your child eat dinner before they arrive at O'Plaine
- Students need to show up to the O'Plaine cafeteria by 5:30 PM
- Students need to be on the band practice field ready to rehearse at 6 PM
- Please wear/bring your white Marching Band shirt, blue Marching Band shorts, mid-height black socks, black marching shoes, white gloves, and your instruments.
- While in uniform and during varsity football games, students are not allowed to have any food or drink (except water).
- During home football games, students are not allowed to leave unless dismissed/excused
by the directors. Please contact your director by the afternoon of the game if you need to
have your child leave early for a legitimate reason which will be determined by the band directors.
- Any questions or conflicts with games, please contact Mr. Jenkins or your student's band director as soon as possible.

Field Crew and parent volunteers

- Please contact Valerie Tamburrino ([email protected]) if you are interested in helping with uniforms.
- Please reply to this email if you can serve as a chaperon on a competition bus.
