Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Aug. 24, 2015: 1) Color Guard Panda Express Food Fundraiser (Completed) This fundraiser took place last Wednesday (Aug 19). Thank you to all those who came out to support our Color Guard! 2) Regular Wed. Night Band Practice (Aug. 26 - Tomorrow) Time: 6 to 9 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus Parent Volunteers Desperately Needed: Tomorrow night (Wed Aug 26), starting at 5:30 P, to assist with the marching band hats (helping to prep/organize all of them for the season). All interested volunteers should e-mail Michele Seiler ASAP, our marching band hat coordinator, at [email protected] We really need your help with the hats for more than 200 band students! 3) Color Guard UNO Food Fundraiser (Ongoing) Date: Now Thru Sunday August 30 Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill 6593 Grand Avenue Gurnee, IL Details: Visit Uno and they will donate up to 20 % of your check to the WTHS Color Guard (Dine-In or Takeout) Purpose: The money raised will help offset color guard expenses. You must bring this certificate (coupon) and present it to your server. Please come out to support these band students! 4) Color Guard Car Wash Fundraiser #2 (This Saturday - Aug 29) Date: Saturday August 29 (this weekend) Time: 10 AM to 3 PM Location: Uno Pizzeria & Grill 6593 Grand Avenue Gurnee, IL (Uno’s parking lot near the SW corner of Grand Avenue and Hunt Club Road) Cost: A monetary donation Purpose: The money raised will help offset the cost of their marching costumes, which each guard member has to purchase themselves See this flyer for details. Please come out to support this integral part of the band and get your cars washed at the same time! 5) Volunteers Needed Who: Parent Volunteers What: Pass out Craft Fair flyers at all the home football games, Fill The Drum and Homecoming Parade this year Dates/Times: Football Games = 5 Fridays (Sept 4, Sept 18, Sept 25, Oct 2 and Oct 16) / 4:30 to 5:15 PM and 6:15 to 7:45 PM Fill The Drum = Sept 16 (Wed) / Approximately 5 to 7 PM Homecoming Parade = Oct 3 (Sat) / Approximately 9 to 10:30 AM All interested volunteers should e-mail Virginia McCullough ASAP, our Craft Fair coordinator, at [email protected] 6) Band Booster Meeting (Thursday Sept 3) Date: Thursday (Sept 3) Time: 7 to 8:30 PM Location: WTHS O’Plaine band room Go Blue Devils!
