Updates & Reminders (Week of May 2, 2016)

Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,

Here are some updates and reminders for the week of May 2, 2016 (Please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed):

1) Final Band Concerts/Awards (Announcement – All Bands)
Date:  May 6, 2016 (this Friday), starting at 6:30 PM (all bands to perform on one night)
Location:  WTHS – O’Plaine Auditorium
Parent Volunteers Needed!!!! – Our band students will be turning in their concert wear after each concert.  As a result, many volunteers are desperately needed to help collect them and bring them home to get them cleaned.  Please contact Maureen Huss ([email protected]) ASAP if you can assist with the above at the band concerts.  We really need your help!

2) Symphonic I Band Performance At Northwestern (Completed)Last Tuesday (April 26), our Symphonic I band performed in the Pick-Staiger Concert Hall at Northwestern University in a separate performance with the Evanston Township High School.
Both groups did a great job and sounded incredible.
Congratulations!

3) Disney 2017 Trip - "Tentative" Dates (Reminder)
At the last booster meeting, the following dates were announced for the 2017 Disney trip: March 2 - 6, 2017
Once the dates are formally approved, we will send out another update.

4) Music in the Parks 2016 - Volunteers still needed!! (Another Reminder for ALL)
Dates:  May 7 and 14, 2016 (both Saturdays - Only 2 days this year)
Times:  7:30 A - 3 P (May 7), 7:30 A - 1 P (May 14)
Location:  O'Plaine campus
We will host many school musical groups who perform prior to going to Great America.  Music in the Parks is one of the largest fundraisers each year for our band program.  Unlike most fundraisers, there is nothing to buy or sell, and we only need a few hours of your time.  Choose one or more shifts and enjoy working with great people. along with meeting bands, orchestras and choirs from many different states.

5) Next Marching Band Camp Dates (Reminder)
Dates:  August 1 - 5, 2016
Times:  9 A - 5 P
Location:  O'Plaine campus.
Registration is still open and we need as many students as possible in attendance!
Please sign up ASAP at https://d121.cr3.rschooltoday.com/public/home before May 31!
Please note that this is also the same week as registration, but students will be allowed to come and go as needed for registration.

6) Miscellaneous Reminders
- Leftover marching band show T-Shirts (Arachnophobia)
- Marching band DVD's
If you are interested in purchasing any of the above, they will be available for sale at this Friday'sband concerts.
