Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents,
Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Oct 19, 2015 (please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Marching Band Competition (ISU Marching Band State Championships) (Completed) Date: Last Saturday (Oct 17 - All Day) Location: Illinois State University in Normal Congratulations to all the band students who performed their best show of the season! Our band parents heard many parents from other bands comment how well they liked our performance and could not believe we did not do better. Thank you to all the volunteers who supported this competition and all the other marching band activities this season! 2) Next Band Booster Meeting (This Thursday - Oct 22) Time: 7 to 8:30 PM Location: WTHS Almond campus - Band Room 3) Craft Fair Volunteers Needed (Saturday Nov 7) - Parents and Students! Go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4faca62aa0ff2-craft to sign up. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help! There are plenty of options for parents and students alike to help and have fun doing it, including concessions. Select a position, pick a shift and add any comments/questions. There are a variety of shifts—you can even work several, doing something different each one. If you have no preference, you can choose the “Whatever is Needed” role. Please use this form even if you are only able to bake goods to be sold at the Craft Fair. Some shifts appear to be favorites, as they fill up quickly. All will be filled on a first come first served basis, so if you want to volunteer for something specific with your friends, make sure you sign up right away. If you have any questions regarding the positions or the event itself, please contact Virginia McCullough by phone (224) 302-3959 or email:[email protected]. 4) Band Pictures (Reminder) This year we are posting event photos for parent/student access in the gallery on the band website (http://www.wthsbands.org/photos.html) as the season progresses (not waiting for the end of the season). The pictures are sorted by band section, and the senior pictures from Fill the Drum are in their own area. These pictures and others, along with the performance videos, will also be available on the Marching Band DVD available in December for $15. Go Marching Blue Devils!
