Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Sept 28, 2015 (please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Warren Band Spiritwear Sale Mixup During the recent WTHS Band Student/Parent Spiritwear sale (Delivered starting Friday - Sept 18) there was a mixup. One family ordered a men's jacket, but came forward because they received a women's jacket instead. Per our vendor, it is likely that another band family ordered a women's jacket, but mistakenly received a men's jacket. Please check your orders to make sure you received the correct items. If you mistakenly received a men's jacket from this order, please reply to this email as soon as possible so we can get the correct items to the appropriate families. Thank you! 2) Tuesday Night Band Practice (Tonight! - Sept 29) Time: 6 to 9 PM Location: WTHS O'Plaine campus 3) Upcoming Schedule Reminder Band Rehearsals - Starting this week, we will have two weeks with Tuesday night rehearsals (September 29 and October 6). They will still be held from 6-9 PM. In addition, there are no Wednesday night rehearsals on September 30 and October 7. 4) Next Home Football Game - Homecoming Halftime Band Performance (Oct 2 - This Week Friday) Date: This Friday (Oct 2) Times: 5:30 to 10 PM [5:30 PM student call time, 5 PM parent volunteer call time (other than uniform volunteers)] Location: WTHS O’Plaine campus (check in at the cafeteria) 5) Homecoming Parade (Oct 3 - This Week Saturday) Date: This Saturday (Oct 3) Please note that in the past, the parade was the Sunday before the game. This is a change from previous years. Times: 9 to 10:30 AM [7:30 AM student call time, 7:15 AM parent volunteer call time (especially uniform volunteers)] Location: WTHS O'Plaine campus (check in at the cafeteria) At the appropriate time, we will take school buses from the OP campus to our parade line area. The parade will end at the school (OP campus). Parents - In order to support this activity, we need a few parent volunteers to walk with the band in the parade and deliver water, as needed. If you can help with this, please contact Mark Haynes ASAP at [email protected]. 6) Volunteers Still Needed Who: Parent Volunteers What: Pass out Craft Fair flyers at all the home football games and the Homecoming Parade Dates/Times: Football Games = 2 Fridays Left (Oct 2 and Oct 16)/4:30 to 5:15 PM and 6:15 to 7:45 PM Homecoming Parade = Oct 3 (Sat) / Approximately 9 to 10:30 AM All interested volunteers should e-mail Virginia McCullough ASAP, our Craft Fair coordinator, at [email protected] 7) Band Pictures (Reminder) This year we are posting event photos for parent/student access in the gallery on the band website (http://www.wthsbands.org/photos.html) as the season progresses (not waiting for the end of the season). The pictures are sorted by band section, and the senior pictures from Fill the Drum are in their own area. These pictures and others, along with the performance videos, will also be available on the Marching Band DVD available in December for $15. 8) Symphonic I Band Weekly Night Rehearsal (Reminder) Dates: Each Monday Times: 7 to 9 PM Location: WTHS Almond band room Go Marching Blue Devils!
