Greetings Warren Band Students and Parents, Here are some updates and reminders for the week of Feb 1, 2016 (Please make sure you read all items so nothing is missed): 1) Spring (March) Band Concerts (Important Date Change Announcement) Due to several unavoidable conflicts with juniors and seniors on their previously scheduled concert date, we will be switching the Spring (March) Concert nights for the Almond and O'Plaine Bands. The new schedule for our Spring Concerts are as follows: - Tuesday, March 15 - Almond Bands (Concert Band I Almond, Symphonic Band II, Symphonic Band I) - Wednesday, March 16 - O'Plaine Bands (Concert Band II O'Plaine, Concert Band I O'Plaine) 2) Winter Guard Competition (Announcement) Date: This Saturday (Feb 6) Times: These will be posted on the Guard Facebook pages (See Mr. Jenkins, or a guard member, if you have any questions) Location: Lincoln-Way North High School (Frankfort, IL) Spectator Admission Cost: $8 per adult, $6 per kids (10 and under), Free (kids under 5) Good Luck! - Please attend to support our Winter Guard Teams! 3) New Trier Jazz Festival Competition (Announcement – Jazz Lab Band & Combo Only) Date: This Saturday (Feb 6) Location: New Trier High School (Winnetka, IL) Specific Times: Contact your directors Featured Artist Concert Admission: $30 – Adults & non-performing students Good Luck! - Please support our wonderful Jazz Bands by attending to cheer them on 4) Winter Guard Competition (Completed) Last Saturday (Jan 30), all our Winter Guard teams competed at Cedarburg High School (Cedarburg, WI). The JV placed 3rd in their class and the Varsity placed 1st in their class. Congratulations to all our Winter Guard students on a job well done! 5) Marching Band Show T-Shirt Sale (Reminder) We are still selling leftover marching band show T-Shirts (Arachnophobia) for $5 each and will continue to do so until supplies run out. Since they are leftovers, quantity and sizes may be limited. Checks should be made out to the Warren Band Boosters. If you are interested, send in your orders, with payment and sizes, to the directors or the booster board members. All orders will be filled on a first come basis. 6) Pep Band Games (Reminder) The pep band schedule is still posted in all band rooms and on the front page of the band booster website at http://www.wthsbands.org/. Band students are welcome to attend any or all games. Please attend another game if you cannot attend your band's assigned game. Please note that the Symphonic I Band is scheduled to perform as the pep band tonight (Tuesday Feb 2), this Friday (Feb 5) and this Saturday (Feb 6). Any questions, please contact your director. 7) Marching Band DVD Sale (Reminder) We are still selling 2 marching band DVD sets, consisting of 1 DVD with videos of performances, along with a second DVD containing event photos. The cost for this set is $15. Please note that we also have a few copies of last year's DVD set for sale for only $10 (limited quantities). Checks should be made out to the Warren Band Boosters. Orders and payment can be given to the directors or the booster board members. 8) Winter Guard Movie Ticket Fundraiser #2 (Update) This fundraiser has just been completed and the Winter Guard members are in the process of turning in their orders and money. More details on delivery will be provided soon (before Valentine’s Day - Feb 14). 9) Dodge Test Drive (Warren Band Fundraiser Reminder) We are still working to hopefully schedule a Dodge Test Drive fundraiser sometime this Spring (maybe late March or early April). More details will follow. 10) Cheesecake Sale (Final Details) This fundraiser will start on Feb 16 (Tuesday). Checks should be made out to the Warren High School All orders and payment are due back by Mar 3 (Thursday) Delivery will be on Mar 17 (Thursday) at Almond (3 - 6 P). This is the last fundraiser for this school year where students can put more money into their trip accounts. Go Blue Devils!
